The highly anticipated release of John Wick: Chapter 4 has left fans wondering if a fifth installment will follow. Back in 2020, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer teased that both John Wick 4 and 5 were in development. However, the ending of John Wick: Chapter 4 has left some viewers uncertain about the possibility of a fifth film. Nevertheless, both Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski have expressed interest in continuing the franchise.
While Lionsgate has not officially announced plans for John Wick 5, the success of Chapter 4 has fueled speculation that a fifth movie could be on the horizon. The release date for John Wick 5 is still unknown, but it is expected to follow the two to three year gap pattern seen in the previous films. Additionally, Keanu Reeves will be starring in the 2024 John Wick spin-off, Ballerina.
As for the cast of John Wick 5, Keanu Reeves is expected to reprise his role as the titular character. Ian McShane may also return, along with newcomers Rina Sawayma and Shamier Anderson. Sadly, the film will be without Lance Reddick, who passed away just days before the release of Chapter 4.
The plot of John Wick 5 is also unknown, but the post-credit scene of Chapter 4 hints at a potential storyline involving Akira seeking revenge on Caine for her father’s death. Furthermore, if John Wick has indeed faked his death, Chapter 5 could see him taking down all of his living enemies.
