Check it out!  A large metal ball with a rusty appearance and two raised handles has washed up on Enshu beach in Hamamatsu city, Japan. Authorities were alerted and the bomb squad was called in, but there was no immediate threat as the object was found to be hollow. The ball has a diameter of about 1.5 metres and is believed to be made of iron. The Japanese armed forces and coastguard officials are investigating the object, and social media has speculated on whether it is a space object or a surveillance balloon. In February, the US shot down a suspected Chinese spy balloon off the South Carolina coast.
