What is a Flush Mount?
A flush mounted light fixture is mounted to a ceiling. The fixture hugs close to the ceiling, usually without any gap between the ceiling and the light shade. A close-to-ceiling fixture can work well as a central light fixture, ideal in smaller rooms and hallways where there is less head-room. A flush-mount fixture provides maximum head-room, though tend to be less decorative than a semi-flush fixture. These lights are hardwired and must be installed electrically, operated by a wall switch. They produce good ambient light, although a larger room may need more than one.

Style and quality
I hated my overhead lighting, and now its tolerable! The lampshade style diffuses the light in a way that doesn't make me wanna cringe every time I walk in the room.
The conversion shade is a very clever solution to an ugly light fixture. My suggestion has to do with the installation. It took a bit of trial and error to discover if I held the original center post with a needle-nosed pliers I was able to tighten the lock nut with an open end wrench. Once I had a system it installed rather quickly. I wish the instructions had offered that as a tip. Regardless, I give it five stars.
The converter kits are great! A little tricky to have them appear level as the ?prongs? Interact with the lightbulbs in a bit of a strange way. Also, the piece of plastic that covers the bottom leaves a gap around the rim so you can see the remnants of the “breast,” ceiling if you stand directly under the fixture. Regardless, much better than the former. Gives a warm, clean, sophisticated look.
Seriously the cutest shades ever. I am honestly going to replace every single "boob light" in my house ASAP. Also, the customer service is off the charts!
Although it arrived a little later than I had hoped, I thoroughly enjoy this lampshade.
I bought these to upgrade the look of our old flush mounts. They are very well made, easy to put up and look great. At first they seem a little pricey, but well worth it. I bought two more. Also, they came promptly and well packaged so no damage in shipment. Thank you!
